Published: DAPrint Total Duration 10'

Premiere: Elizabeth Tomorsky Engligh Horn with William D. Gudger, Charleston SC, March 1998 Organ Registration By William D. Gudger.

Program Notes: Having heard several rehearsals and performances by two well known Charleston musicians: Elizabeth Tomorsky, (English horn) and William D. Gudger (organ). I was intrigued by the possibility of writing a work for them which exploited the contrast between the soulful, mournful wail of this wonderful, exotic double reed instrument and the "cooler" more distant sounds of a church organ with it's many possible registrations. These two premiered the work beautifully on a program of my music in Charleston, SC in March 1998 soon after the work was completed. They both had several good suggestions for improvements which were added. Dr. Gudger provided the registrations for the organ part.
